Best Lightweight Single Stroller
Travel strollers don't get much lighter or more compact than this. Its sleek design is easy to fold into a neat rectangle shape and the wheels turn more smoothly than other designs.
The stroller also has an ample storage space under the seat and a shoulder strap that makes it easier to transport when you're not pushing it. The canopy adjustment can be noisy and could wake a toddler who is sleeping.
1. Contours Itsy
A compact stroller, the Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its small size. Its back under-seat basket is spring loaded, which means you can pull it down to put bags for diapers or backpacks into and it will then pop up to keep the contents. It comes with a child's accessory holder and an adjustable seat pad that reclines. This is more than what you find on a typical lightweight stroller.
Additionally, it has an excellent canopy that can be opened and close to give you the level of sun protection you require, and the handlebar is height-adjustable in four positions to provide a more comfortable fit. However, we weren't impressed with the quality of its ride on rough terrain. We felt the suspension and wheels did not perform a great job of absorbing bumps and shocks.
The stroller is perfect for travel since it is fully assembled in the box. It only takes a few simple steps to get it ready for use. The seat can be moved forward and backwards to alter the recline and is pretty flat. Two buttons on the frame make it simple to fold and unfold. It can be tucked away in an extremely convenient bag for carrying when not in use. It's actually one of the smallest strollers we tested, and it meets most airlines' requirements for gate-checking and cabin storage on airplanes. Check with your airline to see whether there are any restrictions before you travel. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus
This stroller is a great option for those who require a lightweight travel stroller. It has all of the features that parents want in a stroller. It has all-terrain tires and front suspension for a smooth ride. It's also extremely light with a weight of less than 12 pounds. And it has a convenient one-hand and self-standing fold. It also has an adult tray and a child tray each with two cup holders.
Its build quality isn't very high, and it did not do well in our maneuverability test. It also features a flexible frame that makes pushing it across rough surfaces feel like lifting a heavy weight. It may be fine if you use the stroller only on sidewalks with paved surfaces. However, for the majority of people it is not comfortable.
The Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy and a peek-a-boo window for added sun protection. The seat is multi-position and can accommodate children as heavy as 50 pounds and uses five points of safety restraint. This is a fantastic feature for older toddlers who have outgrown their infant car seats.
It has a one-step and compact folding mechanism that can be folded with just a touch of a button. It also features a convenient foot-activated break that's easy to install and release.
However, the handle is a bit lower than many of the other strollers we've tested, and some parents might find it uncomfortable for extended durations. It does come with an adjustable handle lock that keeps it in place when open however. This is an excellent feature if you intend to use the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.
3. Munchkin Sparrow
The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the ideal travel stroller for parents who are constantly moving. This ultra-compact stroller folds up and down easily and can be tucked away in the overhead compartments of planes, or trunks in amusement parks (no need to worry about parking fees). It comes with a carrying bag that zips up for convenient storage. It can be used right from birth using the infant car seat adapter and offers a good amount of shade with its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only downside is that some parents consider the design to be uninspiring and cheap.
The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a bit more expensive than the other lightweight single strollers however, it was created specifically for luxe travel and urban living. It is one of the easiest strollers to fold and comes with a handy carry case. It's got plenty of storage space and a cup holder. The seat is comfortable for the child and the adult and reclines to a near-flat position. This is the only stroller on our list that comes with an adapter for car seats to allow it to be used with infants. Some parents with short legs may not appreciate the handlebar that does not adjust.
The UPPAbaby Minu V2 isn't the lightest stroller on our list, but it comes with numerous great features that make traveling with kids easier. The spacious seat reclines into an upright position and comes with additional padding to make those airplane napping sessions more comfortable. The canopy that can be extended has plenty of sun coverage, and the parent tray provides plenty of storage. It also has an adjustable handle that doubles as the footrest when folded. This footrest, however, is prone to damage by baggage handlers.
4. Uppababy Mini V2
The Uppababy Minu V2 is a top stroller that doesn't compromise on design or quality. Its compact design makes it easy to navigate narrow streets and tight spaces, but its sturdy construction lets it handle rough terrain without compromising the safety of your child. The spring-action suspension at the front and back ensures a more comfortable ride, and its durable materials ensure that it will stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use. It can also be extended to accommodate other accessories such as an infant car seat.
Even with a baby in the mix, the Minu was a breeze to fold and move around. Its squat, almost square fold, which unfolds into thirds, is one of the easiest in our tests and allows it to be tucked away in overhead compartments of planes or public transportation. It has a single-action color-coded brake that is easy to use.
The seat has a multi-position recline as well as a one-handed adjustable leg rest, so it's easy to find the ideal position for your child. The UPF 50+ canopy can be lowered quite a bit to protect Cora's face from sun. There's also a medium-sized mesh peek-a-boo window which closes magnetically, and is glued to the canopy instead of using noisy Velcro.
With Pushchairs And Prams of less than 15 pounds at just under 15 pounds, the Minu is easy to carry thanks to its built-in handle and shoulder strap. It can also be stored in the trunk of your vehicle, and it comes with a storage bag as well as access to Uppababy's TravelSafe program which adds two years onto the manufacturer's warranty. It also covers repairs for items damaged during air travel.
5. Joovy Aire
Joovy is a well-known stroller brand that makes a variety of models. This lightweight stroller is an excellent choice for parents who are looking for a sturdy stroller that can transport their children. It is easy to maneuver, comes with plenty of storage space, and is not difficult to fold. It's not the ideal choice if you want a car seat-compatible model, or a double stroller, however. It isn't compatible with infant car seats. Your babies must be able to sit up on their backs before they can use it.
This stroller comes with a number of solid features and a price. It scored higher on our maneuverability test than other models with similar specifications. It's also a great option for smooth surfaces. It has a large parent tray, canopy and plenty of storage. The front wheel suspension is a little stiff, and the handlebar is a bit smaller than average, but it provides a comfortable ride for adults.
If you have twins or two children who are different ages you may consider a side-by-side stroller to be the best choice to take them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove. It is loaded with features and has a tiny footprint which means it can be placed in places where other side-byside strollers aren't.
It has a big canopy and a peek-aboo window and plenty of storage. It's a bit heavier than other side-bysides, but it has a good weight capacity and can be used by children weighing up to 50lbs. You can add an infant bassinet to the front of the stroller to accommodate infants.
If you're looking for a more luxurious version this stroller the Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is a great alternative. It offers the same great features as this model and can be fitted with a bassinet that allows you to bring your baby home from the hospital with style.
